My background is mainly in Java and Spring Boot, working on enterprise applications, integrations, and application modernization. I've worked across both greenfield development and existing production systems, from building new features to improving performance and modernizing older applications.

About Me

I'm a software engineer with about five years of experience building and supporting enterprise applications. Most of my professional background is in Java and Spring Boot, with frontend experience using Angular and React.

At General Motors, I worked on logistics and transportation systems across several teams. That gave me experience with both greenfield development and existing production systems that needed to be migrated, secured, modernized, or made faster.

A lot of the work I enjoy starts with understanding how an existing system actually behaves. From there, I like figuring out where the real problem is, whether that's performance, an integration, architecture, deployment, or code that has become difficult to maintain.

I also use AI-assisted development tools in my workflow to move faster, explore different approaches, refactor code, and break larger problems into smaller tasks. I treat them as another development tool rather than a replacement for understanding the code I'm working with.

What's Next?

I'm looking for a software engineering role where I can continue growing while working on real production systems. I'm a full-stack engineer with a stronger background on the backend, particularly with Java and Spring Boot, but I'm not tied to a specific stack. I've had to pick up new technologies throughout my career, and I'm comfortable getting up to speed quickly when the work calls for it. I'm especially interested in backend development, integrations, application modernization, platform work, and systems where performance and reliability actually matter.
